Jay is an amazing person who exists at the intersections of many disabilities, diversities, and identities that expose them to stigma and discrimination. They were severely let down by the systems that should have supported and protected them.
Suffering chronic and acute neglect despite the best efforts of their partners and online family to advocate for them, I was alerted to Jay’s situation at a dire hour. Alone in the house for weeks and afraid they would die without assistance, Jay asked me to join their NDIS team and overhaul it.
